Threading Frames is an independent creative collective founded by Joshua Faleatua and Tyler Carney-Faleatua
At the core of our practice is the intersection of dance, theatre, film and storytelling.
Threading Frames have developed works that span live performance, dance film, exhibitions, workshops, and community-centred projects, collaborating with artists nationally and internationally. They are interested in imagining environments where dance can exist beyond conventional rules of time and space. Each experience feeds into and shapes the other. The people we meet, the conversations we have, and the communities we work alongside become part of the artistic process itself.
They are the recipients of the Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Springboard Award (2024) and their work has been presented at festivals and venues including Cinedans FEST, Auckland Arts Festival, Tempo Dance Festival, Pacific Dance Festival, Dancehouse, Schrit_tmacher Festival, and Melbourne Cineverse International Film Festival.
