Threading Frames is an independent creative collective founded by Joshua Faleatua and Tyler Carney-Faleatua
At the core of our practice is the fusion of dance, storytelling, and film, creating work that exists across both theatrical and digital landscapes.
Threading Frames have presented their work in Aotearoa, Australia, Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, Bulgaria, Austria, France and Portugal at festivals such as Schrit_tmacher Festival, Cinedans FEST, Auckland Arts Festival, Tempo Dance Festival, Pacific Dance Festival, (Dance (lens) Film Festival, Thessaloniki Cinedance International Festival, Dance On Screen Film Festival, Paris Play International Film Festival and Stockholm City Film Festival.
Threading Frames has also collaborated with artists and companies such as Atamira Dance Company, Ta’alili, Motte, New Zealand School of Dance, Amit Noy, ARIA, Anna Edgington and Aunty Rae. They are the recipient of the Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Springboard award 2024 and have been supported by Creative New Zealand, Peacocke Dance Trust, Dance Aotearoa New Zealand, Te Auaha and Wellesley Dance Studio to create their work.
